Hi everyone!
We arrived in Kenya this morning and I'm now sitting at a computer in our hotel "the Outpost" in Arusha, we're here for just under a week for an orientation involving swahili lessons, safety things and looking at our schools etc :)
It feels like forever since I got on my flight at Newcastle....
It was my first EVER flight by myself and trust me to land in terminal 5 heathrow! what a faff, thankfully a kind man carried most of my luggage and he was going to the same terminal as me lol bless him!
THEN I arrived at terminal 4 and cafe nero, where we were all meeting, didnt exist anymore! so that was another faff, anyway we all did meet up and it was sooooo surreal getting on the plane and saying goodbye to England for 3 months!
the flight was awful, had hardly any sleep and felt really spaced out by the whole thing of new ppl and the length of time I was going to be away...
BUT when we landed in Nairobi and finally got through all the visas and stuff (we needed dollars and most ppl only had pounds lol) we met up with Madeline and drove down to Arusha,
the drive brought back so many memories and the weather was glorious, even the smell of Africa came back to me! the smell of my insect repellent isn't such a fond memory mind u, ive already been bitten once I think on my foot!
All we've done 2day really is travel down to Arusha and have nice mexican food at our lovely hotel ;) the real graft will begin when we're living in our school accommodation...
I have photos to upload but the pc is so slow so il do that as soon as I can in an internet cafe in arusha, ill find out about skype etc then as well :)
got to go my time is running out on here...
I hope the weather isn't too awful, it's fabulous here, meant to be big storms on friday though arghh!
Much Love,
Sorry if this is a jumble I have limited time lol
Love Claire xxxxx
